Chicks Ride Too!

It's all about the girls.......

The Victorian Downhill Series currently has a small number of female riders racing and we would like to see more females joining us on the track.

Although the sport is male dominated, can be quite intimidating for new and beginner riders, and sometimes you feel if you don't look the part or ride the best bike that you don't fit in. This is definately not the case. You will be surprised when you realise the boys are just as intimidated as what we are and under their tough exteriors they are all friendly and willing to lend a helping hand when needed.

New riders are always welcomed and encouraged by our current female riders.
The girls often ride together, discuss lines and give each other courage to try something outrageous, such as the road gap at Youies!

This season now has a 'Fun' class for beginner riders. You can enter one round or the entire season under the Fun class, there is no pressure to step up to Elite until you are ready.

Now the Elite women's class may sound intimidating as well. But it's only because historically there was not enough women to fill more categories. And as a result, only the Elite women's class remained. But the good news is the Elite class has prize money!

We are taking expression of interest from female riders for female only (sorry boys) Downhill skills clinics run by females, under the supervision of Matt Swann (Men's Elite Rider).
This will be a great opportunity to meet other female riders and learn techniques such as, cornering, jumping, tackling obstacles etc.
If you are interested please email …… for further information.

*EDIT* All female riders can attend the 9am Saturday track walkthrough with Tracey, then when official course practice opens you will have a chance to do one run with Tracey. After that - It is all up to you!

Look forward to seeing you on the track soon.
